Weekly Update, July 5th, 2024

Hi church,

Hope you are enjoying a marvelous Independence Day holiday weekend. The famous preamble to the Declaration of Independence says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Remarkable words indeed. These truths may have been evident for the Founders but not for much of human history. These truths came from Christianity! In his book A Brief History of Thought, atheist philosopher Luc Ferry said, “Christianity was to introduce the notion that humanity was fundamentally identical, that men were equal in dignity—an unprecedented idea at the time, and one to which our world owes its entire democratic inheritance.” So this holiday, we are grateful for these rights but we also remember their ultimate source.

Men’s Cookout

The Men’s Ministry will be hosting a cookout at the church on July 21 at 5pm. Come hang out, play some games, and eat some great food! All food will be provided. Please sign up at the Connect Center.

Baptism Sermon Series

Baptism is a very important part of the Christian life but unfortunately there can be confusion about it. Join us 7/14 and 7/21 as Pastor Bryan explores what Scripture teaches about it.

Seating & Parking

Our attendance numbers keep growing and we’re having new visitors each week! If possible, please move to the center of the seating section so that late comers can easily find a seat. It would also be helpful if we parked in the back, leaving parking spaces for visitors and late arrivers in the front. There are handicapped spaces and doors to the atrium at the back of the building as well. Thank you!
