Weekly Update, March 8th, 2024
Hi church,
Hope you are enjoying the "almost" Spring weather. It is always nice to receive a foretaste of what awaits, much like Jesus guarantees our hope of resurrection life by his resurrection. Please pray for the men's retreat today and tomorrow as we grow in fellowship and enjoy the Praying Life study.
VBS – Breaker Rock Beach
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 23 – Thursday, June 27 from 6-8:30pm! We need “Lifeguards” (leaders) to execute this amazing outreach to our community. The “Coastal Kids” (children) will discover that God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and they will learn to speak the truth in love. There will be lots of seaside adventures! Please sign up to help at the booth in the atrium. Melissa Gardner, our “Captain of the Ship” will answer any questions you may have.
Creativity Workshop – Easter Cards
Are you creative? Well, you don't need to be to enjoy the upcoming Creativity Workshop for all ladies, ages 6th grade and up. Join us on Tuesday, March 12, from 6:30-8pm in the multipurpose room for creative instruction, fellowship, and snacks. At this workshop, Deb Lilliston and Beverly Long will guide us through how to make three beautiful Easter cards. All supplies will be provided. This event is open to all women, so invite your friends and family and join us for a free night of fellowship and fun. MOPS is Growing!
As we add new moms to our group, MOPS is looking for 1-2 more childcare workers to complete the spring semester! There are four meetings left this year: March 22, April 12 & 26, and May 10 from 9:30-11:30am. Please prayerfully consider blessing our young moms during MOPS and reach out to Melissa Gardner (melissa@weemscreek.com) if you are able to serve on ANY of these dates.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Weems Creek Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, March 23rd from 1-3pm on the hill behind the church! There will be egg hunts for different age groups, crafts, snacks, outdoor games, and the Easter Story. Invite your friends & neighbors to join us! If you are able to volunteer for this event, please email Melissa Gardner at melissa@weemscreek.com. We need teams to set up, tear down, and help during the event.
Young Adults Game Night
If you are between 18 and mid 30’s, join us for games, snacks and just hanging out! We’ll meet in the Student Room on Saturday, March 23rd from 6-9pm. SonShiners Luncheon
The SonShiners (55+) will be enjoying a baked potato bar, salad, and dessert for lunch on Thursday, March 21 at noon at church. All food will be provided. Please bring a favorite potato topping to share. Sign up at the Connect Center.
Prayer for Revival
Join us as we pray for God to do a GREAT work of salvation, transformation, and renewal in our church, community, and nation. We’ll meet on Thursday, March 14 at 11am in room 112 and pray for an hour.
