Hi church,
Happy Friday! Our church is looking to go on a week-long mission trip to Toronto, Canada this summer. Participants must be 18 years or older. We will have a brief meeting after church on Sunday, Feb. 18, in the multipurpose for those interested in learning more. Discovering Weems Creek
You are invited to join us for a New Members class on Sunday, Feb. 25th at 12:15pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the church – its beliefs, vision, and ministries – as well as interact with the church leadership and other prospective members. This in an informational meeting; there is no commitment to membership. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Please sign up at the Connect Center.
Family Devotions
Once again, we will be offering a free devotion book to our families with children through 5th grade for the season on Lent. The Way to the Savior by Jeff & Abbey Land includes 40 days of family devotions to reflect on Christ and the true reason for Easter. Each family may pick up their copy at the Child Check-in desk beginning this Sunday.
Games and Goodies
All women, ages 6th grade on up, are invited to Games and Goodies, a Weems Creek women's fellowship event. Join us on Saturday, February 24, 2-4pm in the multipurpose room. Come enjoy fun games and tasty game-day goodies. Invite your family and friends and bring your game face! Please sign up at the Connect Center.
Business Meeting
There will be a business meeting on Feb. 21 at 6pm in the worship center. Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) has requested to use our facilities. We will hear the proposal and vote on their request. We’ll also vote in new members, review financial reports and hear ministry updates.
Date Night
Next Friday, Feb. 16, we would like to bless the families of our church, as well as Awana and VBS families (as an outreach), with a parents’ night off to enjoy time together as a couple while the kids enjoy pizza and the Peanuts movie. Childcare will be provided for infants through 5th grade from 5:30pm-8pm. Please register your children at the Connect Center or in the Church Center app.
Men’s Retreat
The Weems Creek men and high school boys are invited to join us for the annual Men’s Retreat at Camp Wabanna on March 8-9. Pastor Keith Grant will be presenting a seminar on A Praying Life. We will learn step-by-step how to develop a private life of prayer in fellowship with our heavenly Father. It will address such practical issues as how to stay focused, how to pray longer than 5 minutes, how to talk like a child to your Father in heaven, prayer as relationship, prayer as conversation, and problems in prayer. CentriKid
CentriKid is an overnight camp for children who will have completed 2nd – 6th grades and will be held at Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown, MD. The cost is $335. A $75 deposit is required by Feb. 11 (this Sunday). Please sign up at the Connect Center or contact Melissa at melissa@weemscreek.com. If you are interested in chaperoning, please contact Melissa.
SonShiners Planning Meeting
All SonShiners (55 ) are invited to join us for lunch and help plan activities for this year. We will meet at the Edgewater Pizza Hut at noon on Thursday, Feb. 15. Bring your appetite and your ideas! Please sign up at the Connect Center.
Knitting/Crafting
Everyone is invited to bring their latest craft project and join us for a time of fellowship as we create together. We will meet on Feb. 13 from 6:30-8pm in room 111. Knitting instructions available for anyone wanting to learn.
