Weekly Update, February 23rd, 2024
Hi church,
This Sunday we are starting a new sermon series on the book of Daniel. I am excited about our time in Daniel. It has so many great features. We find the amazing stories of God’s deliverance such as the fiery furnace and the lion’s den. There are prophecies about future events that come to pass. Daniel also offers tremendous wisdom for godly living in an ungodly world. And it predicts a future coming of the Messiah who will be given an eternal kingdom. I encourage you to read along to gain the most from the messages.
Discovering Weems Creek
You are invited to join us for a New Members class this Sunday at 12:15pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the church – its beliefs, vision, and ministries – as well as interact with the church leadership and other prospective members. This is an informational meeting; there is no commitment to membership. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Church-wide Bowling Fellowship
Join us for a great time of bowling and fellowship on Saturday, March 2 from 1-3pm at the Severna Park Lanes. This is a free event which includes shoes, 2 hours of bowling, pizza and soda. There is a max limit of 60 people, so registration is required. Please sign up if you are sure you can attend. We will also have a wait list. Men’s Retreat – Must sign up by this Sunday!
The Weems Creek men and high school boys are invited to join us for the annual Men’s Retreat at Camp Wabanna on March 8-9. Pastor Keith Grant will be presenting a seminar on A Praying Life. We will learn step-by-step how to develop a private life of prayer in fellowship with our heavenly Father. It will address such practical issues as how to stay focused, how to pray longer than 5 minutes, how to talk like a child to your Father in heaven, prayer as relationship, prayer as conversation, and problems in prayer. Creativity Workshop – Easter Cards
Are you creative? Well, you don't need to be to enjoy the upcoming Creativity Workshop for all women, ages 6th grade and up. Join us on Tuesday, March 12, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the multipurpose room for creative instruction, fellowship, and snacks. At this workshop, Deb Lilliston and Beverly Long will guide us through how to make three beautiful Easter cards. All supplies will be provided. This event is open to all women, so invite your friends and family and join us for a free night of fellowship and fun. Sign up in the Church App or at the Connect Center. See you there!

New hat donations are welcome year-round for gifting during the winter months. New hats can be given to Judy Hayes.
