Weekly Update - September 29th, 2023
Hi church,
Hope you are enjoying a good week despite the overcast skies! I wanted to make sure that you are aware of our New Members class on Sunday, October 22nd. We would love for you to connect more deeply with our church, whether you just started attending or have attended for some time now. The membership class can be a great springboard to knowing our church better which can lead to serving in different ways and experiencing spiritual growth. See below for more information.
Harvest Fest
Harvest Fest is coming Saturday, October 14th from 12-2:30pm. Mark your calendars! We will have a petting zoo, lots of carnival games, a chili cook-off, local fire and police departments, bounce house, crafts, food & drinks, and MORE! It will be a fun, family-friendly event for all ages! This is free to the community so please invite your friends and neighbors!
You can be part of this great outreach by volunteering to:
man a carnival game, food station, craft table, or bounce house
oversee, judge, and/or enter the chili cook-off
donate baked good for the Cake Walk
set up and/or tear down
allow us to borrow your canopy tent
and donate candy (there is a donation bin in the atrium)
Please sign up at the Connect Center to volunteer or email Melissa melissa@weemscreek.com.
New Members Class
If you are interested in learning more about Weems Creek Church, please join us on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 12:30pm for this informational meeting. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the church – its beliefs, vision, and ministries – as well as interact with the pastor and other prospective members. Lunch and childcare will be provided. If you plan to attend, please sign up at the Connect Center.
Meals for the Martin Family
Rachel Martin is a member of WC and was diagnosed with ALS a year and a half ago. We have been providing meals every Tuesday. There are 6 people in the family and they have no dietary restrictions. We want to continue to bless this family. If you would like to help by providing a meal, please sign up at this link: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/66eyeq
Knitting & Crafting
Bring your knitting or latest craft project and join in this great time of fellowship on Sept. 12, from 6:30-8pm in room 111. This group meets in person on the second Tuesday of the month. The other Tuesdays, they meet on Zoom. All ages are welcome!
Prayer for Revival
If you would like to join in prayer asking God to bring a spiritual revival to our nation, join us Thursday, Oct. 12th @ 12 noon in room 112. This group will now be meeting on the second Thursday of each month (instead of the third Monday). “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:12).
See you Sunday!
Pastor Bryan
