Weekly Update - May 5th, 2023

Hi church,

I was thankful that many of you signed up for the New Testament Challenge. This past week we finished the reading plan! If you are still catching up, hang in there and finish when you can. I would love to hear any testimonies about your experience--what you learned, any specific passages or books that stood out, or whatever you want to share. If you do, let me know if it can be made public. Also, I wanted to take a group picture immediately after church on May 21st. Bring your completed copy of the reading plan and we'll take a picture before the fellowship event begins.

Summer Kick-off Fellowship

Sunday, May 21 st immediately after the worship service behind the church. Two food trucks will be onsite and families are welcome to purchase lunch or bring a picnic to eat. We will be hosting our first annual cornhole tournament and are looking for teams of two to sign up! The church will also be providing drinks and an ice cream sundae bar for everyone to enjoy. (Note: We are having the Chevy's Fresh Mex truck and Truck of Deliciousness onsite for lunch. Entrees are ~ $8-$12 each). Please sign up for the cornhole tournament at the Connect Center! Also, if you have a cornhole set we can borrow or if you want to help with the event, there is a signup for that too.

Celebration of Creation

This Sunday evening, we’ll continue the discussion about the amazing animals and plants that God created. We would love for a few people to bring some animal themed snacks! We'll meet from 5:30-7pm in the multipurpose room.

Free Items

There are many items that are no longer being used at church. They will be available in the atrium on Sunday. Please take whatever you want. There are Bibles, games, children’s books and DVDs, frames, balls, some furniture, and much, much more!

VBS Training Rally

For all volunteers! Saturday, May 20 th from 9-11am. Breakfast and coffee will be provided! We will learn all about Twists & Turns VBS, go over important details for the week, distribute materials, and pray over VBS! Please plan to attend if at all possible. RSVP to Melissa Gardner.

Vacation Bible School

VBS plans are under way! This will be a fun VBS with a game theme. We still need lead teachers for 3 rd and 4 th grades. Pray how God will use you to make this year’s VBS a success! Please see Melissa Gardner for more info or any questions. We will have classes for Pre-K 4th through 5th grade (and younger children of volunteers). Registration is open for children and volunteers.

Children’s Choir

The children will be practicing for a special Mother’s Day presentation during the worship hour on the opposite Sundays of Kids Worship.

See you Sunday!
