Weekly Update - April 28th, 2023

Hi church,

I wanted to mention our Celebration of Creation on May 7th at 5:30pm in the multipurpose room. We will talk about some amazing creations of God. If you would like to help out and share some interesting facts about a favorite plant or animal, please sign-up at the Connect Center. All ages are welcome! Just make sure to write down what you are going to talk about so that we do not cover the same thing more than once. Keep your presentation brief - say 1 or 2 minutes. There will be 10-15 spots available. If you want someone else to read it like a parent or Pastor Bryan, that is perfectly fine. You must sign up by Sunday evening! If you want to bring any animal-themed snacks, that would be fun.

Church Workday – Tomorrow, 9am-noon

There are inside and outside tasks – from moving mulch and picking up sticks to cleaning out closet and dusting. There’s a job for everyone – young and old! If you plan to work outside, please wear boots as it will probably be muddy. We will end the workday with burgers and hot dogs!

Women’s Tea

All ladies (from birth up) are invited to the Women’s Tea on May 6th from noon – 2pm. Join us for finger foods, fellowship and some tasty teas. Just for fun, please bring your own teacup or mug. Please register at this link Women's Tea Registration or sign up at the Connect Center.

Men’s Breakfast

Join the men of Weems Creek for a fellowship breakfast on Saturday, May 6th at 7:30am at the Double T Diner in Annapolis. Bring your sons, grandsons, neighbors. Everyone will pay for their own meal. “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20. Sign up at the Connect Center. We must have a head count to make the reservations.

Vacation Bible School

VBS plans are under way! This will be a fun VBS with a game theme. We still need lead teachers for Pre-K 4, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade. Pray how God will use you to make this year’s VBS a success! Please see Melissa Gardner for more info or any questions. We will have classes for Pre-K 4 through 5th grade (and younger children of volunteers). Registration is open for children and volunteers at this link: Weems Creek VBS

Children’s Choir

The children will be practicing for a special Mother’s Day presentation during the worship hour on the opposite Sundays of Kids Worship.

New Testament Challenge

We are nearing the end of the New Testament Challenge! Hope you can finish well! We would like to take a photo of everyone who completed it after church on May 21st. If you can, bring your completed sheets for the photo! We will take the picture right after service before the fellowship event starts.

Franklin Graham’s God Loves You Tidewater Tour

Franklin Graham will be coming to the area to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. He will be in LaPlata on 4/29 at 6:30pm and in Timonium at the State Fairgrounds on 4/30 at 4pm. If you are interested in carpooling to one of the events, please sign up at the Connect Center.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

This is the last Sunday we are collecting to put toward our goal of $15,000. We’re almost there! So far, we have $11,346. The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary way Southern Baptists fund missions in North America. One hundred percent of gifts given to this offering go to the field to support more than 2,400 missionary families serving across the United States and Canada. The donations are used to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries, as well as create evangelism resources.

See you Sunday!

Pastor Bryan
