Weekly Update, December 8th, 2023

Hi church,

As we continue to spotlight the Lottie Moon missions offering this month, here are some encouraging statistics about our denomination's international mission work for 2022. Let us keep praying and giving to advance the kingdom of God around the world!

  • 3521 missionaries supported with comprehensive care

  • 67 new people groups and places engaged

  • 728,589 people heard the gospel

  • 178,177 new believers

  • 21,231 new churches

  • 102,417 baptisms

  • 146,026 people received leadership training

Business Meeting

Our next business meeting will be this Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 6pm. We will vote on the proposed budget for 2024 and review financial reports. Please pick up a copy of the proposed budget at the Connect Center and review it before the meeting. Come prepared with any questions. This will not be a long meeting as we want to honor the time of Bible studies, Awana, and worship team rehearsal.

Women’s Ministry Cookies & Cocoa

Tomorrow from 2-4pm! Didn’t sign up? Come anyway! Bring a dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies to share. Don’t have time to bake? Come anyway! There will also be a Hot Cocoa charcuterie board with all sorts of delicious add-ins.

Christmas Program

On Dec. 17th at 6pm we will have a Coffee House style Christmas program for the whole family in the multipurpose room with a fellowship to follow. There will be duets, a quartet, children’s choir, interviews, and skits! You don’t want to miss it! Please bring a finger food snack to share.

SonShiners Christmas Party

Those 55 and older are invited to join us for sing-along Christmas carols, white elephant gift exchange, and a pot-luck luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 14 at noon. The church will provide a ham. Please bring a gag type gift for the white elephant gift exchange. This is always a highlight of the event! Sign up at the Connect Center.

Prayer for Revival

We will meet on 12/14 at 10:30am. Please note the time change for this meeting only. Join us as we pray for God to bring true revival. We meet in room 112.

Women’s Bible Study

The next women’s Bible study will begin the first week of January and is titled Better by Jen Wilkin. In this 10-week session, verse-by-verse study of Hebrews, Jen explores how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ. This class will be offered on three different days – Tuesdays (10-11:30am), Wednesdays (6:30-8pm) and Saturday (9:30am-11am). Please sign up in the Church Center App or at the Connect Center.

Candlelight Service

Join us at 6pm for a traditional candlelight service. This is always a special time.
