Weekly Update, January 3rd, 2025

Hi church,

Happy New Year to everyone! God created times and seasons as part of this world so we should recognize their importance. As we start 2025, it is a time to give thanks to God for the past year and the many ways he has been faithful. Also, as we look forward to 2025, let us resolve to hunger more for God. As it is sometimes said, we have as much of God as we want. This Sunday, we will explore John 6 as Jesus teaches about being "the bread of life" who satisfies our spiritual hunger.

Prayer Cohort

Guys, we are offering another prayer group (cohort) based on the Praying Life seminar covered at the men’s retreat. The group will meet Thursday nights (7-8pm) on Zoom. If you're interested, it begins January 9th and lasts 10 weeks. Sign up at the Connect Center.

Kids and Student Ministry Volunteers

Please save the date for our annual training and policy review on Saturday, Jan. 25th from 9-10:30am. This is a time to review our existing policies and go over some important updates for the new year. We kindly ask that if you are serving in ministry with our kids or youth in any capacity that you make it a priority to be there. Breakfast will be provided. Christmas Decorations

All the beautiful Christmas decorations will be coming down on Saturday, January 11 at 10am. If you are able, please sign up to help. Many hands make light work!

SonShiners Planning Meeting

The SonShiners (55 ) will be getting together on Thursday, Jan. 16 at noon to plan activities for this year. Pizza, drinks and dessert will be provided by the church. All you need to do is signup at the Connect Center and bring your ideas!

New Bible Studies

New Bible studies begin this coming week. On Wednesday nights at 6:30pm, the men will be starting the book of Revelation in room 112. The women will be using the study “Finding God Faithful” by Kelly Minter and will meet in room 111. The women’s study will also meet on Tuesdays at 10am in the multipurpose room beginning Jan. 7 and on Saturdays at 9:30am in room 102 beginning Jan. 11. Please sign up for the women’s study at the Connect Center or in the church app.

Lost & Found

Be sure to check the Lost & Found. We have lots of water bottles, clothing, jewelry, and toys. All items will be donated in January.
