Weekly Update, November 15th, 2024

Hi church,

This coming week begins the Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection week. This ministry makes such a tangible difference in the lives of children, families, and even entire communities. Amazingly, God opens doors into hard to reach areas with these shoeboxes. Let us pray and give toward an eternal impact!

Weems Creek Apparel – Must order by this Sunday, 11/17!

We are offering newly branded shirts, polos, sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets for purchase! Our hope is for these shirts to be used at ministry and outreach events and to represent our church in the community. They would also make great Christmas gifts! Apparel must be purchased through this link: https://stores.inksoft.com/_WCC/shop/home and must be ordered by Sunday, 11/17. After the order window has closed, all shirts will be delivered to Weems Creek Church for pick up.

Basics of Islam

Join us Sunday, December 1 from 6:30-8pm as Pastor Bryan gives an overview of Islam – its history, beliefs, and how we as Christians can be praying and witnessing to Muslims around the world and our neighborhood. We will meet in the multipurpose room.

Business Meeting

We will have a business meeting this coming Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6pm in the worship center. We will vote in new members, hear ministry updates and review financial reports.

Christmas Decorating

Tracie Link will be leading the endeavor again this year. If you would like to help, join her on Sunday, Nov. 24 after the service. Many hands make light work! Please sign up at the Connect Center. Lunch will be provided.

Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week

Weems Creek Church is a national drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We will be collecting from Nov. 18-24. We need a few more volunteers. There are several volunteer positions available for each time slot:

· Greeters (cheerful greeting, invite donor to learn more, offer to pray with them for the child that will receive the shoebox, sincere “Thank you”)

· Unloaders/Documenters (unload shoeboxes, count and document boxes received)

· Cartonizers (load shoeboxes into cartons and seal)

· Hospitality (bring snacks, drinks, crafts, simple games to offer donors that come inside).

How can YOU help? There are morning and evening time slots available.

SonShiners (55 ) Christmas Party

The SonShiners will be having their annual Christmas Party on Dec. 5th at noon in the multipurpose room. They’ll have a potluck lunch, devotion, and Christmas sing-along. It will be a great time! The church will provide ham and drinks. Please bring a side dish to share. Sign up at the Connect Center.
