Weekly Update, October 4th, 2024

Hi church,

As we have watched this week, Hurricane Helene devastated parts of our nation. Let us pray for those affected and for the recovery efforts. Below is a link to Send Relief's website devoted to the hurricane. On the website, you will find information about the storm, prayer guide, and a link to financially support our denomination's relief efforts.

As a church, I encourage us to serve in Disaster Relief training. The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware hosts periodic training sessions for people to be equipped as volunteers as well as specific roles like chainsaw, feeding, and chaplaincy. Personally, I have seen firsthand the huge impact of Disaster Relief ministry, both going to affected areas and also experiencing a tornado that devastated my area and hosting volunteers for nearly 2 months. Disaster Relief demonstrates the love of Christ in very real, tangible ways. Let me know if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. For more information: Hurricane Helene

We need candy or treat donations to be distributed at the different activity stations! They can be placed in the bin in the atrium.
