Weekly Update, January 5th, 2024

Hi church,

Hope you enjoyed an incredible Christmas and New Years! This Sunday we will return to our study of the Sermon on the Mount. Our passage touches on being anxious about the future in regard to money. People often struggle in this area so we need to hear Jesus’ words to galvanize our faith as we face a new year. God loves us and will provide as we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Offering Envelopes and Online Giving

Offering envelopes for 2024 are available at the Connect Center on Sunday. If you are physically donating, you are encouraged to use the envelopes as they assist in accurate record keeping. You may also donate online at weemscreek.com/give. If you need assistance with setting up or making changes to your online giving account, please email Keith Lewnes at star53ship@aol.com.

Business Meeting

Our next business meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6pm in the worship center. We will vote on recommendations from the nominating committee as we fill church leadership positions for the new year.

Hallmark Celebration of Life

On Saturday, Jan. 20, we will celebrate the life of JoAnn Hallmark. There will be a time of visitation starting at 10am with the service beginning at 11am. We would love to bless the family with a luncheon following the service. If you are able to bring a dish or dessert, please contact Tracey in the church office (office@weemscreek.com or 410-266-5527).

MOPS Volunteers

In order to offer MOPS, we need 6 dedicated childcare workers. MOPS meets on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30am on January 26, February 9 & 23, March 8 & 22, April 12 & 26, and May 10th. Childcare workers are paid $10/hour. Please consider blessing the moms of our church and community with this much-needed ministry! New Wednesday Night Bible Studies - 6:30-8pm.

There’s still time to jump into one of the Wednesday night Bible studies! Or the Tuesday morning and Saturday morning Bible studies! If you signed up but have not received your book yet, they will be available at the Connect Center on Sunday.

Prayer for Revival

Join us on Thursday, 1/11 at 11am in room 112 as we pray for each other and for God to bring revival to our church, community, and nation.

Knitting & Crafting

This group will meet Tuesday, 1/9 from 6:30-8pm in room 111. Join us for a time of fellowship as we work on our latest craft projects.

Lost & Found and Giveaways

There is a table set up in the atrium with all the Lost & Found items as well as materials we are giving aways. Please stop by the table, there are a lot of items! After this Sunday, all items will be donated.
