Weekly Update - April 7th, 2023

Hi church,

I’m looking forward to tonight as we remember the cross and observe the Lord’s Supper. In remembering, we express our love and gratitude for our Savior. I encourage you to join us at 6:30pm for a very meaningful time of worship. And after the Good Friday service, your cup will be full of joy for Easter Sunday! We will have services at 9:30am and 11am, with childcare and Kids Worship at the 11am service.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary way Southern Baptists fund missions in North America. One hundred percent of gifts given to this offering go to the field to support more than 2,400 missionary families serving across the United States and Canada. The donations are used to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries, as well as create evangelism resources. Our goal is $15,000. So far, we have collected $4,620.

Wonders of Creation!

Psalm 104:24 declares, "How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures." God wants us to marvel at his handiwork. Join us for a new sermon series starting April 16th as we learn about the heavens (4/16), the earth (4/23), and amazing plants and animals (5/7), including us (5/14)! God's word God's world = Awe of God!

Church Workday – April 29th, 9am-noon

Just as we must maintain our houses, the Lord’s house needs to be maintained too. We are looking forward to this great time of fellowship, getting to know each other better and getting some work done around the church. There are inside and outside tasks – from moving mulch and picking up sticks to cleaning out closet and dusting. There’s a job for everyone!

Business Meeting – April 19th, 6:25pm

We will review the treasurer’s reports and vote on 3 items – amend the personnel portion of the budget, amend the Facility Use Policy, and vote in a new Building & Grounds chairman. We will meet in the worship center.

Prayer for Revival – April 17th, noon

Join us as we pray for God to bring true revival to our nation.

SonShiners Easter Egg Hunt & Potluck – April 20th, noon

Everyone likes to hunt Easter eggs – even those who are over the age of 55! We will provide the meat and drinks. Please bring a side dish to share. Sign up at the Connect Center.

Knitting/Crafting

Bring your knitting or latest craft project and join in this great time of fellowship on April 11 at 6:30pm in Room 111.

Praying the Bible by Donald Whitney

If you ordered this book, they will be available at the Connect Center on Sunday. We are asking for a $5 donation. If you haven’t paid yet, you can give your money to the Connect Center volunteers or put it in the offering, marked “Prayer book.”

Women’s Bible Study

Women’s Wednesday night Bible study will be starting a new 4-week series on Abraham beginning April 5th at 6:45pm in room 111. This study, “Abraham: The Father of Our Faith,” will cover the lessons we learn from this patriarch from the Old Testament. We will learn about Abram’s call, his faith, his family, and God’s covenant with him.

See you Sunday!
