Weekly Update - March 24th, 2023

Hi church,

Spring is here! It is a wonderful time of the year with the greenery and warmer weather. And we are 2 weeks away from Easter Sunday as we celebrate our Risen Savior! Let's pray for God to work in our church and our community.

As a reminder, the pastors and Personnel Committee are recommending Melissa Gardner as our part-time Children’s Director. We are very excited about this! As we announced last week, we will have a special called business meeting after service this Sunday where members will vote on hiring Melissa.

Special Called Business Meeting

The special called business meeting will begin after the service on Sunday and will be brief. All members will be able to pick up their ballot before the worship service in the atrium.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary way Southern Baptists fund missions in North America. One hundred percent of gifts given to this offering go to the field to support more than 2,400 missionary families serving across the United States and Canada. The donations are used to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries, as well as create evangelism resources. Our goal is $15,000.

Praying the Bible by Donald Whitney

Learn to pray the scriptures and you’ll never be lost for words again! In this practical guide, the author shows you how to allow God’s Word to shape our thoughts and petitions. If you would like a copy of this book, please sign up at the Connect Center. We will be placing the order for the books on Monday. We are asking for a $5 donation.

Easter is coming! Be sure to update your calendars.

  • April 1 – Easter Egg Hunt

  • April 7 – Good Friday Service, 6:30pm

  • April 7 – Student Lock-in, 7pm-7am

  • April 9 – Easter Service, 9:30am & 11am

Women’s Bible Study

Women’s Wednesday night Bible study will be starting a new 4-week series on Abraham beginning April 5th at 6:45pm in room 111. This study, “Abraham: The Father of Our Faith,” will cover the lessons we learn from this patriarch from the Old Testament. We will learn about Abram’s call, his faith, his family, and God’s covenant with him.

Coats in Cruisers

We will be collecting gently used winter coats for the Sheriff’s Department to hand out as needed. The biggest need is for men’s and women’s coats. All donations may be place in the designated area of the coat closet in the atrium.

New Testament Challenge

If you are participating in the New Testament Challenge, be sure to sign up at the Connect Center so that you will receive the related emails.

See you Sunday!
