Weekly Update, January 24th, 2025
Hi church,
It is always a blessing to celebrate a baptism as we did last Sunday. Now, we know that salvation is entirely God’s grace that we receive by faith. Baptism is not the source of our salvation, but it is the declaration of our salvation and so it is very important. Also, God blesses our obedience as we proclaim our allegiance to him through baptism. If you have never been baptized, I would encourage you to do so.
Boy Scout Food Drive
The Boy Scouts who meet at our church are collecting food for the Light House in Annapolis. Please bring in non-perishable food items and place them in the tote near the coat closet. This is a great way to support the scouts and our community. Donations will be collected through Feb. 2nd.
Young Adult Game Night
Calling all young adults (college – 30’s) for pizza and a game night on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6-9pm! We will meet in the youth room at church. Bring a friend and your favorite game! CentriKid
We are inviting your 2nd-6th grader to explore God's calling and join us as we go “Higher.” At CentriKid 2025, kids will discover what it means to live out God's calling through the adventure of following Christ! CentriKid is a high-energy, intentional, gospel-centered overnight camp for current 2nd–6th graders. Their mission is to help kids experience the time of their lives and learn more about the message of Jesus Christ. This takes place through track times, rec, worship, Bible study, church group time, and a variety of other fun events. CentriKid Camps are committed to providing content that is rooted in Scripture, a safe location, kid-friendly programming, and staffers who are deeply invested in your kids. CentriKid is at Skycroft in Middleton, MD from July 14-18th Your $75 deposit is due by Feb. 15 and the total cost to attend is $365. You can pay online at weemscreek.com/give and select "CentriKid" from the dropdown menu. Please note that this is a sleep-away camp; not a day camp.
Widow’s Walk Luncheon
The Widow’s Walk group will be having lunch at Brenda Dillon’s home on Saturday, Feb. 15 at noon. Food will be provided. Please sign up at the Connect Center.
Prizes for Churchwide Bingo
We are seeking donations to be used for prizes at our Churchwide Bingo. If you own a small business and would like to donate products or services, please contact Paige Crozier at 410-562-9457. We already have some amazing prizes so be sure to mark your calendar for Feb. 22 from 2-4pm!
Annual Giving Statements
The annual giving statements will be available in your Sunday School class or at the Connect Center this Sunday. Please be sure to pick up your statement even if you don’t plan to use it.
